Adaptive game and level designer as well as a seasoned audio/music producer.

Welcome to White-Hot_Games, the creative alias of Max White, a versatile game designer and a seasoned audio/music producer.

 

Currently based in Bristol, Max has a wide range of interests he pulls on as a game designer. He's a forward thinker who weaves his love for games, music, writing, art, culture, and history into mesmerising gaming experiences.

 

With a solid background in Contemporary Music Production and over a decade of hands-on experience, Max seamlessly merged his musical prowess with game design. The lockdown catalysed his journey into game development, where he became well-versed in audio implementation using Wwise and delved into systems like Game Maker Studio 2, Unreal, C#, and Unity. His solo projects expanded his expertise, encompassing everything from 2D art creation using Procreate to gaining a holistic understanding of game production.

 

Max's interest in game design didn't stop there. He honed his skills through online courses and pursued a Master of Computer Science (MCS) in Commercial Game Design at the University of West England. Collaborating in diverse teams' he undertook real-world projects in Game Maker, Unity, and Unreal.

 

Graduating in November 2023 completing a thesis titled "Ludonarrative Harmony: Eliciting Emotion in Games," and its accompanying experiment in the form of a game "Workplace Dissonance". Additionally, his paper, "Gamification in Drone Defence: Evaluating Boid Scripting," is on the path to publication with university support.

 

Game design isn't just a job for him; it's a lifelong passion and calling. He's a storyteller, a problem solver, and a creator who thrives in the dynamic world of gaming. Max's love for games, music, writing, and history fuels his creativity and innovation, and he's unwaveringly committed to delivering unforgettable gaming experiences.
